The Horcrux socks are finished…
They look a little funny when they’re empty because of the lace and because of the proportion of the length of the foot to the length of the leg. I admit, with size 10 hooves like mine, that’s quite an amusing proportion :)
However, they look just fine when they’re on your feet! These are going to be my house socks this winter - I’m just tickled to death with these :) Nice pattern (see this post - scroll down - for pattern link) and beautiful yarn, if I may be so immodest as to say so. The color may have been accidental, but it’s still pretty cool!
See the “Knitting Chatter” button on the side bar for more information.
While I have been in touch with my provider off and on this week, I have no reassurances about how stable things are likely to be for Chatters. Never the less, I am hoping for the best and will be there should any of you good people decide to take the chance :)
Have a wonderful weekend!

Those are absolutely beautiful socks and I had to come out of lurkdom to tell you that! lol
Angie - Very kind of you to say so :) I really encourage you to try the pattern if you’re interested in knitting socks. It’s fast and easy and - as you can see - pretty nice looking!
Those socks look fantastic on you. So warm and cozy and the color is so bright and cheerful!
Love these socks!! I think I need to get my sock yarn out.

Beautiful job on a nice pattern. I made Horcrux for a swap. Fought with the lace section but eventually made friends with it. Now I need to make a pair for me.
Opal - They are wonderful - I’ve been wearing them all day since it’s pretty cold and raw up here. Thank heavens for wool socks!
Vicki - The pattern is written for worsted weight yarn, but I imagine a little jiggering would do the trick - like maybe casting 60 stitches onto size 1 or 2 needles with sock/fingering weight yarn?
Hmmm - I may give this a try myself eventually…
Chris - I know you’re in a cold area, same as i am. I worried that the lace element would mean the socks wouldn’t be warm enough? But they do seem to be just fine :)
Oh god…I just had a flash about what they might be like with an angora component! You have to make some now :)
